Amy Rush

Squad – Club Masters Group

Amy swam competitively for Bexley SC as a child through to her teenage years, reaching County and Regional level and has been associated with the club for 30 years.  Amy teaches the ASA ‘Learn to Swim’ programme for Bromley High School and has returned to Bexley to coach our ClubMasters Group.  Amy also provides cover for other squads when required.

      Honor Woods

      Squad – Academy Group

Honor joined Bexley SC at the age of 10 quickly gaining qualification for both Kent and Regionals in all 4 strokes but her favourites are Breast Stroke and Front Crawl. She represented her school at the English Schools Relay and was placed in the top 9 of the country. She has also swum for Greenwich Royals.

Honor had to stop competitive swimming with the pressures of school exams but has now returned to coach at Bexley. She also teaches young children at a swimming school.

She hopes to use her knowledge and experience of swimming to help children enjoy swimming as much as she does.

          Heather Perfect

          Squad – Development Group

Heather has been affiliated with Bexley SC for as long as she can remember. She swam competitively when she was younger and later as a Masters swimmer. Her family has a long-standing history with the club. She has very fond memories of her time at Bexley SC, so when the opportunity arose to join the coaching team, she was thrilled. She is also a keen follower of the sport outside of her coaching role. Heather finds her job very rewarding – seeing young, emerging swimmers gain confidence regarding their own capabilities is something she feels humbled to be involved in. The amount of resilience swimming requires is humongous and it is a testament to her squad and swimmers across the club that they approach both training and competing with smiles on their faces and the determination to improve.

              Marina Snelling

              Squad – Development Group

Marina has been coaching at Bexley SC for 17 years. Before joining us she also coached at Bromley SC for 6 years and swam as a Master there for 4 years as she also swan competitively in her youth. She Coordinates the ASA Swim England Learn to Swim programme at Sidcup Leisure Centre and through this she is proud to say that they have a good rapport with Bexley SC with children passing through the Learn to Swim programme into Bexley SC. She was made an Honary Member of Bexley SC in 2014 and was very proud to accept it. Marina is very passionate about her teaching and coaching and enjoys passing this on to all her swimmers and hopes that they will enjoy swimming as much as she does and maybe Coach at the club one day themselves.

                  Helena Wood

                  Squad – Progressive Group

Helena started swimming for Bexley SC when she was 7 and became a coach when she turned 16. She has coached a number of the squads over the past few years. Her best strokes were front-crawl and back-stroke as a swimmer but, as a coach, she prefers to focus on all of the strokes equally. Her favourite part of the job is watching swimmers set new PBs and realising all the hard work was worth it!

                      Dave Laurie
