What an incredible week at the Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships for Amrit and Gabi!
Amrit raced across seven events and produced a brilliant week of performances. He began with a huge PB of 17:06.55 in the 1500m freestyle, moving from the slowest seed to finish fifth in Britain in the 13/14 age group.
He then went on to reach six finals:
200m butterfly: 2:17.73, 5th place
100m freestyle: 55.32, 4th place
400m freestyle: 4:13.78, 4th place
100m butterfly: 1:00.28, silver medal 🥈
200m freestyle: 1:58.97, silver medal 🥈
200m individual medley: 2:18.50, 4th place
An outstanding week for Amrit, filled with huge personal bests, six national finals, two silver medals and several top-five finishes.
Gabi also had a fantastic championship, reaching two national finals and producing two brilliant personal bests. In the 200m backstroke, he improved his ranking from ninth to seventh, finishing with a superb 2:18.83. A brilliant achievement and a fantastic reward for his dedication and hard work.
Both swimmers have been an absolute pleasure to watch throughout the week and should be incredibly proud of everything they have achieved in Sheffield.
A huge thank you must also go to Mick for all the time, commitment and hard work he has put into preparing and supporting both swimmers. These performances are a real testament to the work taking place in training.
