Vacancy: Development Swimming Coach

Bexley Swimming Club are looking to appoint an ambitious, committed, and enthusiastic Development Coach who will work with the coaching team to deliver a structured training programme.

Water Safety;
RLSS National Rescue Award for Swimming teachers and coaches (NRASTC)
RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualifications
Coaching; Swimming Coach Certificate or Level 2 Award (desirable)

Working Hours: Part Time (admin away from the pool, additional attendance at galas expected)

Location: Bexley – Sidcup, Bexleyheath, Mottingham

Salary: Competitive/negotiable dependent on experience

Closing Date: 29th of September 2023

Key responsibilities of the role include:
 Deliver a coaching programme to meet the needs of the swimmers, enabling them to reach their full potential
 Working alongside our coaches to deliver effective coaching sessions.
 Ensure feedback is given to senior member of the coaching team.
 Provide coaching support and feedback at competitions and meets
 To be able to attend galas & encourage swimmers to compete.
 Keep up to date with regulations and show an interest continuing professional development and a willingness to expand their
 Report to the Head Coach and work well in a team to help support other coaches
 Willing to provide cover / work increased hours if required including coaching our Masters squad
 To follow and promote Wavepower.

Requirements and skills
 Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
 Understanding of health and safety in a swimming pool environment.
 Be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate about developing swimmers as people as well as athletes and enabling them
to reach their full potential.
 Have experience of coaching in the appropriate swimming/coaching areas
 To be punctual, reliable, and committed to the club and its goals and willing to go above and beyond what is expected.
 To communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, other coaches and committee
 Completed Swim England Safeguarding and Protecting Children training (or willingness to complete this prior to starting)
 Full driving licence

 National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
 Completed Swim England Team Manager training.
 Swimming Coach certificate or Level 2 Award
